Sauna - bathing
Although there are millions of saunas in Finland for bathing purposes, Finns love to bathe in natural waters throughout the year. Thousands of lakes attract bathing, whether it's pleasantly cool summer waters or icy cold holes in winter. Bathing in the wild nature is invigorating and the Finnish nature offers wonderful private places to bathe by the wild waters.
In our sauna-bathing collection, we use linen that is grown and spun in Europe according to the Öko-tex 100 standard. The Öko-tex standard guarantees that the product has undergone testing and does not contain any harmful substances to the environment or human health.
We are committed to finding more environmentally friendly methods of dyeing textiles, which is why we exclusively use plant-based dyes in our linen fabrics since the dyeing of synthetic textiles is responsible for approximately 20% of global water pollution. For that reason in our sauna-bathing collection, we combine natural tones of 100% linen with plant-dyed colors. The colors of peat, clay and honey have been used to draw similarities to the healing substances found in Nordic nature, which are traditionally used in the northern sauna and bathing cultures.
The material is naturally functional: possessing antibacterial and antifungal properties, quick drying moisture from the skin, and leaving it feeling soft to the touch. We've created a sauna-bathing collection using eco-friendly and high-performance materials that are both functional and enjoyable. It's been designed to be highly absorbent and long-lasting, adding a touch of gentleness and enjoyment to your daily bathing routine. We want you to experience a truly relaxing sauna session just like the Finnish do.
The linen is then woven in Porto, Portugal, a city renowned for its traditional and expert craftsmanship in producing linen fabrics.
